Our hydrangeas!

blooming hydrangeas (colour after desaturation)

We bought two pots of pink hydrangeas to usher in Chinese New Year and we've been pretty lucky with the blooms. The little buds bloomed beautifully the past 3 weeks, while their more mature counterparts grew a deeper pink. They are at the height of their bloom now; and alas the earlier blooms have started to wither. Decided to capture their transient beauty permanently before all the blooms fade away, as they have brought much colour and cheer to our front porch :)

Photo on left shows the state of bloom around Chinese New Year (9 Feb) while the one on the right shows the same pot of flowers a week or so later. It's quite amazing how the pink comes on and quickly 'crowds out' the light green part of the petals

Upon closer examination I observed little flower stamens etc in the centre. So delicate and pretty!

And finally - my hydrangeas at their peak!
